March 20, 2025 ‒ Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) announced today that Bernard Jackson, Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer, has accepted a position as Chief Operating Officer at the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, with his last day at the agency set for Friday, May 2nd.

“NYMTA is North America’s largest transportation network, and this is a tremendous opportunity for BJ, as well as a testament to the incredible work he has done here since joining us in May 2022,” said DART CEO & President Nadine S. Lee. “From the roll out of DART Zoom to maintaining ninety-nine percent service delivery to installing a culture of excellence in customer service, BJ has been a driving force behind our growth and success.”

Over the coming weeks, DART will be naming an interim COO and initiating a nationwide recruitment search to fill the vacant position.
