To transform DART from a de facto shelter into a proactive support system for vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) aims to tackle food insecurity and improve access to fresh, healthy food by implementing urban farms and mobile farmers markets at local transit stations. These initiatives are designed to serve underserved communities, particularly those in food deserts, by providing convenient access to nutritious options. Ultimately, DART’s efforts seek to enhance the quality of life for residents and support sustainable, equitable solutions to food access.
DART is combating human trafficking by implementing online training programs, which play a vital role in raising awareness, fostering understanding, and developing proactive solutions within organizations such as the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).
Engage DART employees with meaningful volunteer opportunities that support vulnerable populations, promote DART as a responsible and active community stakeholder, and enhance employee morale and community connection.
The goal of the Multi-disciplinary Response Team is to transform DART from a de-facto shelter into a proactive support system for vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.
